I would be so remiss if I
did not recount to you the following episode in the life and times of
one Voyageur Jacket and its fortunate owner.
Last weekend said owner was traveling about New England with a final
Sunday morning destination on the banks of the River Charles where my
daughter would be crewing for Fairfield University in the Head of the
Charles Regatta. The weather was gray, cold, windy and wet. Saturday, it
rained non-stop and Sunday never topped 45 degrees.
Immediately upon completion of her race, I hopped in the rental and
drove straight to the airport, arrived just in the nick of time and
boarded the plane in soggy clothes. ETA in rainy Chicago was 6:30 p.m.
and the first pitch for the 2nd game of the World Series was scheduled
for 7:10 p.m. Upon
arrival in Chicago, I stepped into the Men's room to pull a quick Clark
Kent, changing into all the dry clothes I had left in the duffle.
T-shirt, turtleneck, fleece and on top - you guessed it - Navy Blue
Voyageur Jacket. Into a cab and off to Cell Field ("Comiskey Park"
having been relegated to the dustbin of baseball history, the park is
now officially, and not popularly, known as "U.S. Cellular Field"), I
hoped to catch the bottom of the first inning - and did.
A constant, misting, drizzling rain dogged the entire night. Pants got
quite wet, but upon arrival back home late that night, I pulled off the
Voyageur and found the fleece et al absolutely dry.
And that, my friend, is a true story. I was cold, but perfectly dry
where it counts most!

Snazzy lining! Nice
workmanship. I immediately put my arm under the faucet to watch the
water run off. I liked the feel of it right off the bat; it fit me like
a glove. This is the ultimate between the season coat in New York City….

The coat arrived, and it
fits PERFECTLY. Remember, when I put yours on, I told you I had never
had anything fit so well? I wasn't kidding. The tailoring and detail are
“old world,” and I love the red lining. Again, nice work on the coat
concept and execution. I hope you do well in this venture.

Fascinating! The jacket is a
damn good idea, if only for the fact that you can get of the plane or
boat, go into a nice restaurant, and not have to change out of a “travel
jacket” that looks like something Dr. Livingston might have worn — with
fishnet hanging all over it. Neat idea.

I’ve spent the last
20-plus years of my life as an ex-pat in Latin America and currently
live on coast of northern Baja California, Mexico.
When my Voyageur Jacket first arrived, I really liked the styling, fit,
and practical design; plenty of room to move, good-sized pockets, hidden
security pockets, etc. I thought I’d found the perfect travel jacket:
Truth is, I had. It’s perfect with a pair of jeans and loafers, and
dresses up incredibly well with a pair of slacks and a tie. Now I pack
less for my trips and look better in the process.
However, with the crazy weather and near-record rainfall in Baja
California this year, I’ve really put the Voyageur through its paces
right here at home. I can now describe your incredible jacket in two
succinct words: Absolutely amazing! Your slogan “always correct, weather
or not” is right on the money.
Several months ago, I decided to wear my Voyageur Jacket to meeting,
simply because I could fit everything I needed into the jacket pockets,
without it looking bulky, and wouldn’t have to haul around a half-empty
briefcase. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, when I left the house. To
make a long story short, by the time we left for lunch at a local
restaurant, it was pouring rain, and none of us was prepared with
raincoats or even umbrellas.
You should have seen the looks of amazement on their faces, when I
walked in with a dry, 100% cotton jacket with just a few small beads of
water on the shoulders, and which I effortlessly, yet very deliberately,
brushed off, just to dramatize the moment. Like water off a duck’s back!
Again, absolutely amazing! I wish I’d had a camera, and come to think of
it, I still had room for it in my jacket pockets. Thanks for a great
product, that’s everything it’s advertised to be.
